About our trainers
All Butler Health & Fitness trainers are qualified with either a bachelor’s degree in the field of Exercise Science or certified through the American College of Sports Medicine or the National Strength and Conditioning Association. They also carry professional liability insurance and are certified in CPR.
Working with your trainer
Every new member has the opportunity to schedule a consultation with a personal trainer within their first 30 days of membership to help get them started.
Most clients meet with their trainers at least one time per week for optimal results. Each session with a trainer lasts one hour and is tailored based upon the clients goals, needs, likes/dislikes, abilities and fitness level.

Exercise Philosophy
- With over 10 years of personal training experience I have learned that everyone can be successful in achieving their goals as long as they have a PLAN! Planning is KEY…exercise, healthy eating, and a healthy lifestyle doesn’t happen on its own.
- You have to take yourself out of our comfort zone in order to see results.
- Being healthy and fit is not a quick fix, it’s a lifestyle.
- “Nothing will work unless you do”

Exercise Philosophy
- I believe anyone can exercise and derive a benefit. It’s a matter of individualizing an exercise prescription to your goals, life style and interests.
- Compliancy = Success
- In my 12 years as a trainer I have learned that you need to be open to new ideas and training techniques because the key to results is change. If you’re one of those people who do only aerobics classes, or do the same repetitions range for your body building split routines, you may want to think about changing things up because there is a good chance that you are just spinning your wheels at a plateau. The way to create a change in your body is to create a state of “Muscle Confusion” such that the body constantly has to adjust to something new, whether it’s changing exercises, your repetition range, the speed of the exercise movements, or your rest between sets. Don’t allow your body to become comfortable.

Specialties
- Weight loss: As a young woman I struggled for years with my weight. I burned through many “fad diets” only to lose and then rapidlygain the weight back. Exercise was my last resort and it worked. Not only did I lose the weight and kept it off but it assisted me with finding better nutritional habits. I no longer saw food as “the enemy.”
- Strength training for women: I enjoy teaching women how to gain physical strength and endurance. The benefits of such exercises include: more ease in performing daily tasks, better bone density, leanness, confidence, increased metabolism, and longevity-just to name a few.
- Circuit style workouts & HIIT Principle Training (High Intensity Interval Training): get an entire body workout that incorporates strength training with cardio. Benefits: maximized cardio burn, less workout time, increased aerobic endurance, and improved performance.
Exercise Philosophy
- Health is a lifestyle not a three week diet.
- There is such a thing as OVER-Training as well as UNDER-training.
- Throw out your scale and get to the gym, while there, don’t compare yourself to anyone else. This is YOUR time-and not for or about anyone else.
- SWEAT out the doubt.
- Forget perfection…it doesn’t exist.
