Butler Health & Fitness offers free childcare in the mornings and evenings to all our members who are moms, dads, grandparents and caregivers. Our responsible and qualified staff will watch your young ones while you workout.
On your child’s first visit to childcare you will be asked to fill out the Childcare Information Form, which you may also download and bring with you to the gym.
General Information
- All children between the ages of 2 months and 14 years of age are welcome in the childcare room.
- No child under the age of 15 is to be left unattended in any area of the fitness center.
- Childcare is provided as a safe place for your child to play while you exercise.
- Childcare staff is concerned with the safety and welfare of all the children….
- If a staff member has a concern for your child you may be asked to return to the childcare room
- If your child gets sick we ask that you remove your child from childcare
- Drinks and snacks are permissible; please supply these in an appropriate container for your child. Sharing of food amongst of the children is not recommended due to food allergies and the staff tries to prevent this.
- Childcare staff works with the children on sharing and playing with other children as well as cleaning up their toys.
- Childcare staff does their utmost to make your children comfortable during their stay and this includes going to the potty. Please advise the staff on toileting behaviors of your child. While the staff will help your child please remember that we are not here to toilet train your child and you may be called back to the room in the event of an accident.
- Due to the various age ranges that may be in the room at any given time please be aware that while the staff works to keep activities age appropriate there may be times where there is a show on TV that you prefer your child not to watch but it is acceptable for the older children. While the staff tries to make every accommodation we must provide care for all children.
- Older/School age children may want to bring their own activity/homework.
- Advise staff of anything about your child that may help in their care.
- Please remember this is a community room and your child will come in contact with others. Staff works for the safety of all and addresses issues directly with your child when appropriate and involves the parent when necessary.
- If you have any concerns please bring them to the attention of any staff member.
Guidelines
- A parent must remain in the building at all times while your children are in childcare.
- If your child is potty training please bring extra clothes in the event of an accident.
- Please label all items with your child’s name.
- If your child is sick please do not bring them to childcare.
- During winter weather please remove your child’s shoes [if they walked in from outside] once they enter the childcare room, this is to keep the floor dry and free from salt/dirt as we do have infants crawling on the floor.
- The staff tries to keep your things together, please look for anything that was brought to childcare prior to leaving.
We like to hear from you, if you have suggestions please let any staff member know or use our Questions & Comments form to send us a message.
