Due to the reasons listed below, Butler Health & Fitness will not be opening the pool this season of 2012 and will be closing the pool indefinitely going forward.

 The cost of operating the pool for three out of twelve months of the year has caused the club to spend funding that could be put towards other improvements to the club.  These include:

• Professional services needed to open and close the pool at the season’s beginning and ending.
• Outdated equipment in need of replacement:  pool liner, surrounding concrete, filter system, underground pipes, heater, etc.
• Daily maintenance which increases payroll expenses.
• Professional weekly pool testing price increases. 
• Insurance premiums have increased to club due to being a pool operator.
• New mandates for pool operators would force club to purchase new equipment adding to the overall expense.

We are trying to keep our operating costs as low as possible to avoid unnecessary dues increases.

We understand this may be upsetting news to some of you and we assure you that a lot of time and consideration was put into making this business decision.  In addition, we are planning future improvements to the club and hope to start some of these projects within the year.
